Private bus operators suspend strike set for tomorrow

Private-BusPrivate bus operators have suspend the strike which was scheduled for tomorrow, the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association (LPBOA) said.

LPBOA said the bus strike was called off after the Finance Ministry agreed to have talks with the association tomorrow.

The bus strike was to be staged tomorrow in protest over the minimum fine for traffic offences announced by the Finance Ministry.

The Finance Ministry had said yesterday it will not go back on its decision to impose a Rs. 2500 minimum fine on traffic offences. (Colombo Gazette)
