Joint opposition cautioned on attempts to create instability

The Government has cautioned the joint opposition on making attempts to create instability in the country.

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) General Secretary and Minister Duminda Dissanayake said that the Government must be allowed to run its full term.

He says if there are concerns over?any decision taken by the Government those concerns should be discussed and resolved.

“We can do politics at an election but now we must build the country,” he said. (Colombo Gazette)

School only on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday next week

Schools will function only on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week, the Education Ministry said. The decision was taken for Government and Government approved private schools to function only on three days next week as Thursday is Poya Day. The August term holidays for Government schools have already been scrapped. Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha had said earlier that Government schools will continue until November.
