Colombo Chief Magistrate, Mount Magistrate among 70 transferred

The Judicial Service Commission has decided to transfer 70?Judicial Officers with effect from
01.01.2017.

R.P.D.P.P. Ratnayake,?Deputy Secretary of the?Judicial Service Commission said that anyone can appeal against the transfer on or before 25.11.2016.

The Judicial Service Commission said the transfer is part of an annual transfer.

Among the most notable judges being transferred?are?the Colombo Chief Magistrate G.A.B.Pilapitiya and Mount Lavinia Magistrate?A.M.M. Sahabdeen.

The?Mount Lavinia Magistrate has been hearing the investigations into the murder of journalist Lasantha Wickremetunga.?(Colombo Gazette)
