The report recommends that legal action be taken against former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran over the bond scam.
COPE chairman Sunil Handunneththi presented the report to Parliament when the House met today.
Handunneththi said that the final report was not changed from the original document despite some divisions in the COPE committee.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the Government will respect the report and proposed that it be sent to the Attorney General for further action.
The joint opposition called for a debate in Parliament on the contents of the report. Wickremesinghe said the Government is ready to debate the report once it is printed. (Colombo Gazette)
