PM reiterates importance of cohabitation Government

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today reiterated the importance of the cohabitation Government in Sri Lanka.

Speaking to a group of Sri Lankan journalists in Brussels, the Prime Minister said that several issues were resolved in the country since the two main political parties worked together.

Wickremesinghe said that following the UN Human Rights Council session in March next year the Government will be able to resolve some outstanding matters related to human rights.

He also said that the Government has discussed several plans for the future and now is the time to implement those plans.

The Prime Minister said that India has come forward to assist in developing Trincomalee while China is to develop Hambantota. (Colombo Gazette)

Covid death toll in Sri Lanka crosses the 4000 mark

The coronavirus death toll in Sri Lanka crossed the 4000 mark today. The Ministry of Health said that another 43 deaths linked to the virus were confirmed in Sri Lanka today.
