Sri Lanka needs US $5bn this year for repayments

The Government is targeting US $5bn this year for repayments, plus a further US $1bn to bolster the country’s reserves, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said today. Municipal Council member Mahinda Kahandagama arrested

Colombo Municipal Council member Mahinda Kahandagama was arrested today over the 9th May attacks on peaceful protesters at Galle Face and near Temple Trees. Kahandagama surrendered to the Criminal Investigations Department today after being named as a suspect over the incident. He was arrested after he surrendered and was questioned by the CID. Prime Minister to make special statement in Parliament

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is to make a special statement in Parliament next week. He is scheduled to address Parliament on?7th June when the House meets.
