Highways Minister Lakshman Kiriella says the Government has been able to implement most of the recommendations in the resolution on Sri Lanka adopted by the UN Human Rights Council last year.
Speaking at an event in Kandy, the Minister said that Sri Lanka had been on the agenda of the UNHRC for three consecutive years.
However he says now Sri Lanka is hardly discussed by the UNHRC and there is no pressure on the Government from the council.
The Minister said that the cohabitation Government has been able to address several issues since the main political parties in the Government are working together. (Colombo Gazette)
