UN to launch global public appeal for Sri Lanka

The United Nations (UN) is to launch a worldwide public appeal for Sri Lanka on the 9th of June. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the UN will seek support to provide humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka. Cabraal granted bail in case filed by monk

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ajith Nivard Cabraal, was granted bail today in the case filed against him by a monk. The Venerable Thiniyawala Palitha Thero filed the case against Cabraal accusing him of misappropriating state funds while serving as the Governor of the Central Bank.
