War time Omanthai check point removed

The check point which was established at Omanthai along the A9 road during the war has been removed with effect from today. The Omanthai check point was known as the entry/exit point between LTTE controlled areas and Government controlled areas during the war. Even after the war the?check point remained and some vehicles going between the north and the south were checked my the military. However as of today the check point has been completely removed with no military presence at the location.

Army says probe on Channel-4 video not over
