Suspects arrested over businessman’s murder remanded

Nine suspects arrested over Bambalapitiya businessman Mohammed Sakeem Sulaiman’s murder were today further remanded till October 13.

Sulaiman was abducted recently for ransom and was later found dead in Mawanella.

The abductors had demanded Rs. 20 million from the family of the businessman and his father had promised to pay the ransom.

However while investigations were ongoing the body was discovered in?Mawanella. The post-mortem revealed he died as a result of a blow to the head. (Colombo Gazette)

Troops leave for Mali to join UN peacekeeping mission
