Pujith Jayasundara and Hemasiri Fernando further remanded

Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando were today ordered to be further remanded over the Easter Sunday attacks. The Colombo Additional Magistrate ordered that they be further remanded till 3 February. EU insists GSP Plus continuation for Sri Lanka not automatic

The European Union (EU) today insisted that the continuation of the GSP Plus trade concession for Sri Lanka is not automatic. The Government had said yesterday that the EU assured Sri Lanka it will continue to enjoy the GSP Plus trade concession till 2023. CCD records statement from Judge Gihan Pilapitiya

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) recorded a statement from Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya over the leaked telephone recordings involving Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake. The Attorney General had instructed the CCD to record the statement after the voice of the judge was heard in one of the recordings. The Police said that the CCD recorded the statement for nearly 4 hours.
