Parliament approves pay hike for Bribery DG

Parliament today approved a salary increase for the Director General of the?Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption?Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe.

Parliament was told that?the Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval?to pay with?effect from 12.02.2015 the new salary and allowances to?Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe, President?s Counsel and former Additional?Solicitor- General of the Attorney-General?s Department, on her appointment with effect?from 12.02.2015 on State?s initiative, as Director-General of the Commission to?Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, which post is vulnerable and exposed?to risks.

Parliament approval was earlier sough to pay her a monthly salary and all allowances entitled to the post of Additional?Solicitor-General (other than telephone allowance, fuel allowance and?house-rent allowance) and a Ministry Secretaries? allowance, telephone allowance and fuel allowance?entitled to the post of Director-General of the Commission to Investigate?Bribery or Corruption.

Accordingly, Parliament resolved to pay under votes of the Consolidated?Fund, the monthly salary and allowances to?Wickramasinghe. (Colombo Gazette)

Geoffrey Aloysius taken into custody

The Chairman of Perpetual Treasuries Ltd (PTL) Geoffrey Aloysius has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in connection with the Central Bank treasury bond scam. Hambantota to be major investment zone says PM
