Chevin Mandawala and Sagar Hiranand of MullenLowe Sri Lanka outshone their peers in the digital category at the Sri Lankan leg of Young Spikes 2016, recently. Their winning idea – Marco Knorrs it – highlighted their intimate understanding and use of digital platforms to increase the strength of Knorr and increase its usage. With this victory, the duo have won the honour of representing Sri Lanka at the Young Spikes Digital Competition to be held during the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity in Singapore. The local Young Spikes competition saw 55 teams across three categories – digital, media, and integrated – vie for the opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the main competition in Singapore. The competition challenges teams to think creatively and tests their knowledge in their given field.
“MullenLowe is known for its creative effectiveness and the key to that is our relevance in the times we operate in. In a technologically enabled world, digital has tremendously influenced the way we think for brands. Chevin and Sagar bear testament to this culture and I am proud of their recognition. I am sure they will do Sri Lanka proud at Young Spikes Asia and wish them all the very best” said Thayalan Bartlett, Chief Executive Officer, MullenLowe Sri Lanka.
The regions oldest award for excellence in the creative communications industry, Spikes Asia is a collaboration between Lions Festival and Haymarket. The three day festival brings together some of the finest creative thinkers from around the world providing them with a platform to network and exchange ideas. The competition itself allows young creatives to showcase their talent by solving a client’s problem in a high pressured environment brought on by a short deadline.
