The Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen today sought an urgent meeting with Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs Minister D.M Swaminathan to discuss housing concerns in the North.
Bathiudeen said he sought the meeting following a visit to the North where several families made an appeal seeking permanent houses before the rain season.
Bathiudeen told Parliament that he met Swaminathan today and hopes to have a follow-up meeting tomorrow to discus the issue.
Several war affected families are still displaced and are in temporary shelters in the North. (Colombo Gazette)
