President warns he is ready to expose the truth

President Maithripala Sirisena, warned today?that he is ready to expose the truth about members of the former Government who are looking to form a new political alliance.

Speaking at a public event in Matara today, Sirisena said that the cohabitation Government will continue in office for the next five years.

He also said that the current government will decide the future of Sri Lanka post 2020.

The President noted that members of the former Government are now looking at forming a new political alliance.

“We will not let those people to form a government,” he stressed.

He warned that if they form such an alliance he will not hesitate to reveal the true secrets about those individuals. (Colombo Gazette)

Over 60 Sri Lankans arrested in Mangaluru, Madurai

Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Police have arrested 61 Sri Lankan nationals who were found living illegally in the two states, Hindustan Times reported. Eleven others were also arrested for helping the Sri Lankans with their stay. While 38 Sri Lankans were arrested from Mangaluru in Karnataka, 23 were held from Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Government decides to increase cost of fuel

The Government has decided to increase the cost of fuel, Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila said today. Accordingly, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) announced that Petrol Octane 92 has been increased by Rs. 20 per litre, Octane 95 by Rs. 23, Auto Diesel by Rs. 07, Super Diesel by Rs. 12 and Kerosene oil by Rs. 07 with effect from midnight tonight.
