fishermen_indian_fish_reuteFour Indian fishermen from Kanyakumari who were stranded in Sri Lanka were repatriated by the Indian Coast Guard.

The fishermen reached Tuticorin shore safely on Thursday morning, the Times of India reported today.

The four member crew had sailed from Arockiapuram in Kanyakumari on August 2. They drifted into Sri Lankan waters after their boat engine failed.

Spotting them in their waters, the Sri Lankan navy rescued the fishermen on August 8 taking the boat to the Dikovita harbour where the Island nation’s navy rendered them food and assistance to repair the boat engine.
