Four stranded Indian fishermen rescued by Navy

The Sri Lanka Navy rescued four Indian fishermen who were in distress after?their fishing boat which suffered?an engine failure was?was drifting in the Western seas of Sri Lanka.

Having towed the boat along with the fishermen to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbour, they were provided with food and necessary first-aid by the Navy.

The Navy said that steps were itaken to repair the boat?and the fishermen were?scheduled to be released at the International Maritime Boundary Line today. (Colombo Gazette)

UK relaxes travel advice on Sri Lanka

The United Kingdom (UK) has relaxed its travel advice on Sri Lanka. Issuing an updated travel advice, the UK Foreign Office said that it no longer advises against all but essential travel to Sri Lanka.
