Sri Lanka condemns deadly shooting in German city of Munich

a3EA5llXSri Lanka today condemned the deadly shooting in the German city of Munich in which at least nine people were killed.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mahishini Colonne said that Sri Lanka condemned the shooting in Munich and extended condolences to the families of the victims and wish a quick recovery to those injured.

An 18-year-old German-Iranian gunman who apparently acted alone opened fire in a busy shopping mall in Munich on Friday evening, killing at least nine people in the third attack against civilians in Western Europe in eight days.
The pistol-wielding attacker, identified by Munich Police Chief Hubertus Andrae as a dual national, was later found dead of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Why this statement has to be made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mahishini Colonne? Where is Mangala? Is he busy writing articles to Colombo Telegraph? Is he a foreign minister or a political writer? This small country doesn’t need a Foreign Ministry spokesperson, if Mangala does his job well.

  2. As if anyone notices these these tertyped utterances., not abroad, not in sri lanka.
Icannot recall germany or any western cvountry condemning mass murders, massacres, iucide bombings in sri lanka for 30 years until 2009.
Now our foreign office is busy condemning terrorist attacks in Europe and West. . 82 peace marchers were massacred yesterday in Kabul. Ibet the foreign minister is not bothered or does not care.
