Pujith Jayasundara says police will liaise closely with the Army

IGPcallCOMD_10Inspector General of Police (IGP), Pujith Jayasundara says the police will liaise closely with the army.

He expressed these views when he paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva this morning at the Army Headquarters.

Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva during cordial interactions recalled the excellent working relationship that both organizations have been maintaining and underlined the importance of further promoting such goodwill and broad understanding, irrespective of multi-dimensional challenges and complexities that sometimes work against the spirit of camaraderie and enforcement of law and order.

Jayasundara pointed out that sound relations between both organizations have now reached dizzy heights as never before since a conducive working environment without any interference, has now dawned.

Jayasundara also opined that the Police is always on the look out for valued advice, guidance and help from the Army all the time to steer clear of challenges that would erupt.

The cordial courtesy meet culminated with exchange of mementos that symbolize long-lasting goodwill and cooperation.

Major General Milinda Peiris, Chief of Staff, Major General Sumedha Perera, Deputy Chief of Staff and PSOs were also present during the courtesy call of the IGP. (Colombo Gazette)


  1. Most probably he must have reminded how police gave protection and traffic clearance for the white vans operated by military intelligence after high profile assassinations and murders.
