President insists must accept issues of Northern Tamils

Maithripala SirisenaPresident Maithripala Sirisena today insisted that the people must identify and accept that Northern Tamils do have issues.

Speaking in Kilinochchi today, the President said that everyone must show commitment to ensure reconciliation among all communities.

He said that for all communities to live in peace the issues faced by those communities must be identified.

“We must accept that the people in the North have issues,” he asserted.

He also said that some groups are now talking of forming a new political front but he will not b easily shaken.

President Sirisena also said that he was elected to office last year based on his election mandate.

The President said that he is committed to fulfil the mandate given by the people to him in January last year. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. The President is getting alone with the Western programme. Ranil, Mangala and TNA have already accepted the programme.

  2. Sirisena had visited Jaffna more than 13 times but never went to a Buddhist Temple but went to Hindu and Muslim places. People in Jaffna say that Sirisena is the only president they have seen doing so. This is not the way to bring reconciliation to country.
