The police opened fire on a vehicle suspected to be smuggling illicit drugs in Pannipitiya today.
Officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau opened fire on the vehicle after the driver failed to stop the vehicle.
However the vehicle managed to escape. (Colombo Gazette)
