Finance Minister and Auditor General hold key meeting

A meeting between Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and Auditor General Gamini Wijesinghe was held at the Finance Ministry today, the Finance Ministry said.

The discussion was centered on certain issues with regard to accounts in the Annual Report – 2015 published by the Finance Ministry.

What measures should be taken to face similar situation was also discussed by the participants during this meeting.

Finance Ministry Secretary Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga and several top officials of the Ministry of Finance Ministry and senior officials of the Office of the Auditor General participated in the discussion.

Concerns had been raised in Parliament recently with regards to the?Auditor General.

Zuma and Mangala hold brief meeting

South African President Jacob Zuma and Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera have had a brief meeting at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). The Foreign Ministry said that Samaraweera had welcomed Zuma and the BIA when the former was on his way to China and his plane had made a stopover at the BIA. UAE to improve the welfare of Sri Lankan workers

The United Arab Emirates? Foreign Minister, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nayhan, visited Sri Lanka on the invitation of the Government of Sri Lanka.
