To mark Father’s Day, the National Christian Council organized a special service at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour which featured the De Lanerolle Brothers, Melanie Bibile and Neranjan de Silva.

Ishan De Lanerolle directed the choir consisting of the Cathedral Choir and OKTAVE.

A special Father’s Day message was delivered by Reverend Roshan Mendis who spoke on overcoming the challenges faced by families today.

The De Lanerolle Brothers and Melanie Bibile captivated the hearts of the congregation with their outstanding performances.

Among the songs sung by the De Lanerolle Brothers was ‘Dance With My Father’ while Melanie Bibile will be best remembered for the song ‘To God Be The Glory’.

The service also saw the fathers in attendance and their children being prayed for by the priests at the altar.

The dearly departed fathers were also not forgotten and candles were lit in their memory at the service by their children.
