EC to accept nominations from 12-19 March for polls

The National Elections Commission (EC) says nominations for the 25th April Parliamentary elections will be accepted from 12-19 March. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa signed the gazette notice to dissolve Parliament from midnight tonight. The new Parliament will convene on 14 May. (Colombo Gazette)

Hotline for Sri Lankans in UAE to get updates on virus

Sri Lankan expatriates living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been urged to contact the Sri Lankan Embassy in the UAE via the recently launched 24-hour toll-free helpline number (800119119) with regard to the coronavirus.
