Department of meteorology warns of strong winds, rough seas

The department of meteorology has warned of strong winds over a 24 hour period from 3.30 this afternoon.

The early warning centre of the department of meteorology said that strong winds at times can be expected over the southern part of the island, particularly over the western slopes of the central hills and southern and western sea areas.

The deep and shallow sea area extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo and Hambantota can be very rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-70 kmph.

Naval and fishing communities have been?requested to be vigilant in this regard. (Colombo Gazette)

Number of areas in Western Province to remain isolated areas

A number of areas in the Western Province will remain isolated areas until further notice. The quarantine curfew imposed in most parts of the Western Province will be lifted tomorrow (Monday).
