Increase in arrests over use of illegal drugs

There has been an increase in the number of people arrested during?the past six months over the use of illegal drugs when compared to the same period last year, Chairman of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board Dr.?Nilanga Samarasinghe said. He said that a 25 percent increase has been noted over the past six months when compared to last year while the number of arrests over the use of heroin has seen an eight fold increase.
