Police question 28 Lankans deported from UK

The police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today recorded statements from 28 failed Sri Lankan asylum seekers who were deported from Britain. According to our reporter at the airport the 28 Sri Lankans arrived onboard a chartered flight from Britain and were accompanied by security officers from the UK Border Agency. Police ready to vacate civilian property

The police say they are ready to vacate civilian homes in Jaffna if alternate land is given to them to shift the police stations. Jaffna district Police DIG Erik Perera said that police stations in Jaffna have been asked to identify land where the police stations can be shifted to if they are operating from civilian homes.
