Sri Lanka cricket defends suspension of three employees

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) today confirmed it has suspended three of its employees pending disciplinary action. The cricket board said that the issue is?an internal matter of the administration of SLC, and inquiries are being conducted with strict adherence to the Labour laws of Sri Lanka and under due legal counsel.

“As such, no details of the inquiries will be disclosed or discussed with the media pending the finality of these proceedings, at which time a notice of the final decision of the Executive Committee may be conveyed to the media. We appeal to all media to refrain from publishing conjecture and hearsay with respect to these internal administrational proceedings as they have no bearing on the game of cricket, and only serve to cause unwarranted embarrassment and pain of mind to the employees in question,” the cricket board added.
