President to visit China again on invitation from Chinese President

Maithripala SirisenaPresident Maithripala Sirisena is to visit China soon, his second official visit to China since taking office as President in January last year.

Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe said President Sirisena will be visiting China on an invitation extended by Chinese President Yi Xianliang.

He said the visit will help further boost the relationship between both countries. The visit follows Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s visit to China this year and Sirisena’s visit to China in March last year.

“Our Prime Minister went and brought financial assistance to the county and now the President will go. This friendship between both countries must continue,”  Samarasinghe said.

The Minister also said that Sri Lanka’s Foreign policy is to take the middle ground and not take sides or anger Sri Lanka’s neighbors. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. No doubt PRC is friendly nation of all Sri Lankan.
    China is respect & accepts ours national sovereignty ,territorial integrity, unitary character of state and democracy of Sri lanka.
    Well, President visit to China will be timey need to ensure our relationship of two nations.

    We have to approach New Capital market ,Trade and Investments of second largest – GDP of China.
    We Sri Lankan want create the domestic space needed to protect social programs and relevant regulations renew domestic social contract and pursue locally tailored growth policies by tied up new investments from China.
