Suspended Magistrate Thilina Gamage indicted

The Attorney General filed indictments against suspended Magistrate Thilina Gamage and three others before the Colombo High Court today over allegations he kept an elephant calf without a valid license. Gamage and the others have been accused of committing a crime under the Public Properties Act by keeping the elephant calf named ?Sakura? using a forged license.

Ranjan Ramanayake apologises to Chief Prelates

State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake, who has been accused of disrespecting the Buddhist clergy, today met the Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter and tendered an apology. National Police Commission Secretary remanded
