Anusha Palpita removed from post following pressure

Former Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) Director General?Anusha Palpita has been removed from the post of additional secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs following pressure against?his appointment.

The Government?was?slammed for appointing Palpita as a Ministry Additional Secretary.

The?Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) had said?Palpita?s appointment was a ?shameful? act as he was previously accused of being involved in corruption when Mahinda Rajapaksa was in power.

Palpita was accused of being involved in the?misappropriation of Rs. 600 million belonging to the TRC during the last presidential election campaign. (Colombo Gazette)

Random PCR testing at Expressway entry/exit points

Random PCR testing will be carried out at entry and exit points of expressways in the country. Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath told reporters today that concerns had been raised over the failure to conduct PCR testing on expressways.
