AG files indictments against cop and prison officials

Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera filed indictments against former Negombo Prison Superintendent Anuruddha Sampayo and four others today. The AG?s Coordinating Officer State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said the indictments were filed at the Negombo High Court. London Police confirm probe underway on mercenaries linked to war crimes in Sri Lanka

British mercenaries who were involved in the Sri Lankan civil war are being investigated for war crimes by the Metropolitan Police. Schools in East to close as cyclone nears

All schools in the Eastern Province will remain closed from tomorrow (02) until Friday (04). Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath said the decision has been taken in anticipation of inclement weather predicted as a result of a cyclonic storm expected to pass over the Province tomorrow.
