Ranil tells his MPs who were shouting to “shut up” and sit down

RanilUnited National Party (UNP) leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today told a group of Parliamentarians who were shouting at the opposition while he was speaking to “shut up” and sit down.

The Prime Minister had a verbal exchange with the opposition over the controversy which arose on the vote earlier this month on the Supplementary estimates.

Wickremesinghe said the opposition cannot behave in an unruly manner and if they continue to do so they should be removed from the House.

At this point some of the UNP members began raising their voices towards the opposition andĀ Wickremesinghe then told them to shut up and sit down. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Politics of democracy need discipline ,in or out Parliament .
UNP has to set example first disciple and order of house .
Politics has gone beyond their limits of the basic norms.
Urgently we want to address disciplinary manner by UNP leaders .

Well protected the Rights of Real Opposition, has been also key to function of democracy.
In fact consensus and deliberations are foundation of democracy.
