The low pressure area is moving away from Sri Lanka so the rainy conditions over the island will be reduced to some extent, but strong wind conditions will continue for a few more days, the department of meteorology said this morning.
Heavy to very heavy falls (100-150 mm) are likely at several places, particularly in the North, North Central, North Western provinces.
Showers or thunder showers will occur at time in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. (Colombo Gazette)
