Palmyrah Fund launched to develop the North and East

The Palmyrah Fund was launched by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today to develop the North and East. Speaking at the launch, the Prime Minister said that the new fund will help expedite the development the North and East. He said that when Parliamentarians submit project proposals for the North and East those proposals will be implemented through the fund. He said that the Finance Ministry has already allocated funds to the Palmyrah Fund and more funds will be allocated during the year.

SLPP calls for motion to dissolve Parliament

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) says it is ready to support a motion to dissolve Parliament. Parliamentarian Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said that there are some elements in Parliament who must be removed.
