JVP denies reports of a rift in the party over leadership post

JVPThe Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today denied reports of a split in the party over the leadership post.

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that one newspaper had today attempted to mislead the public by claiming there was an attempt to replace him as party leader.

He said that the his party will expose the newspaper to the public and parliament as it had attempted to tarnish the image of the party.

JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said that the former regime was behind attempts to give the impression there was a rift in the JVP.

He claims former regime is taking out its anger on the JVP as the JVP worked for change at the last Presidential election. (Colombo Gazette)
