Sri Lanka reiterates defense ties with China on strong footing

The Government on Saturday reiterated that its defence ties with China is on strong footing.

Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi told Xinhua that China and Sri Lanka are enjoying?a good defense relationship.

He said the defence relations, which includes military training, continues to grow and will be further strengthened.

A joint statement, released by China and Sri Lanka following Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s visit to China last month, noted that both countries have expressed the willingness to maintain close relations in the area of defence. (Colombo Gazette)
