Speaker Karu Jayasuriya makes public video of clash in Parliament

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today made public the video showing the clash which took place in Parliament on Tuesday.

Some members of Parliament urged the Speaker to release the video to the media as there was a dispute as to who was responsible for the clash.

The Speaker agreed that the video must be made public and he released it to the media today.

The video shows the argument which broke out when former army commander Sarath Fonseka was making a speech in Parliament.

In then shows several MPs engaging each other in the Well of the House and a brawl breaking out. (Colombo Gazette)

Karannagoda questioned by CID on abductions

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had recorded fresh statements from former Navy Commander Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda last week over the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths in 2008-2009, The Sunday Morning newspaper reported today.
