Commander Loic Bizot, Deputy Defense and Naval Attaché for India and Defense Attaché (non resident) for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives with Mrs Isabelle Miscot, Deputy Head of Mission of the French Embassy in Colombo had talks with Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters today.
The army media unit said that the French officials and the army chief exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest and importance between both Sri Lanka and France.
The brief meeting culminated with exchange of symbolic mementos.
Earlier in the day the French Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Jean-Marin Schub called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo.
The Ambassador was awarded with a Guard of Honour on his arrival. He was accompanied by Commander Loic Bizot.
They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interests and bilateral importance. Mementos were also exchanged to mark the occasion. (Colombo Gazette)
