  1. The best decision made for the POLICE to be allowed to do their POLICING WORK. Let the politicians, whether good or bad be allowed to do the POLITICAL COMMUNICATION WORK with the PUBLIC. You should completely withdraw this division from the Sri Lanka Police. At least you should be commended for taking a bold decision and giving a good start to the Police under your administration Sir. With no malice to ASP Ruwan Gunesekera, he was acting beyond his limits and creating dramas that was the main reason for the Police-Public Relations to deteriorate during the last few months. ASP Ruwan Gunnesekera was providing good “Air Space Time” for TV channels and “Stupid content” to the print media which covered most of the prime-time news broadcasts. No where in the world has a so-called police spokesman acted like the way in which the Sri Lanka Police spokes person acted during the last few months. Police in foreign countries do not have a permanent spokes person position, but, on-and-off, a police officer of a higher rank appears to make a statement on very important police involved matters to the public/nation if it warrants.
