Uduwe Dhammaloka makes statement to CID on Sobitha’s death

The Venerable Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero made a statement?to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today on the?death of the convener of the National Movement for a Just Society, the late Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero.

Dhammaloka Thero had alleged that?there is evidence to prove that the death of the Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera was due to foul play.

Speaking to the media after making a statement to the CID, the Venerable Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero urged Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to appoint an independent commission and investigate the death of the leading monk.

The Venerable Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero said hat he will assist the probe in order to ensure the truth is revealed.

The monk dismissed claims that he made the statement to the CID to divert attention from the investigations launched over him over an elephant calf he had without proper documents. (Colombo Gazette)
