JVP accuses Government of having secret political deals

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuina (JVP) today accused the Government of having secret political deals with some members of the former regime.

JVP Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath said that there is suspicion that?such a deal was reached with former Parliamentarian Sajin Vass Gunawardena.

“There were serious allegations against?Sajin Vass Gunawardena but because of a political deal he was granted bail and released and now he has been given police security and is being used by the Government,” he said.

The JVP MP said that his party will continue to protest against the Government over its secret political deals till corrupt politicians of the former regime are arrested.

Herath?said that even the suspects wanted for murder, including over the murder of rugger player Wasim Thajudeen, have not been arrested, giving the impression they are being protected. (Colombo Gazette)
