Magistrate summons Dhammika Ranatunga over complaint

gavelThe Colombo Chief Magistrate today issued summons on the chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Dhammika Ranatunga to appear in court on March 24 over a complaint filed by some journalists.

A group of journalists yesterday filed the police complaint against Ranatunga claiming that he had threatened them when they were doing their duty outside the Colombo High Court.

The journalists were taking visuals of Dhammika Ranatunga at the court premises yesterday when he had arrived to attend a court hearing into the arrest of his brother Nishantha Ranatunga.

Dhammika Ranatunga was seen intimidating one journalist at the court premises before he went inside the building.

The journalists filed a complaint with the Keselwatta police over the incident. (Colombo Gazette)
