  1. This is good news. It is such a horrible thing to take such a young elephant from its mother and family. How dare someone like this call himself holy!

  2. Very confused as to why THIS is illegal but any temple in India or hotel in Sri Lanka can have an elephant to draw tourists and cash? Is it a matter of paying off the government aka: papers? to make it “legal”. Let’s concern ourselves with the stealing of elephants from their herds and the abuse they endure thereafter. Let’s tell the bigger story and reveal the bigger evil.

    • Linda we should, and are, concerned about ALL captivity of wild elephants. All of this is what Lek and Elephant Nature Park is about!

  3. This is shameful for Sri Lanka. I volunteered for weeks in Sri Lanka after the tsunami and I know that the people of Sri Lanka are kind. Kind people can no longer accept and condone animals in confinement inside sacred temples. Please speak out!

  4. Please watch this love and compassion towards this animal.-https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1068091353251848&id=317748864952771
