Wimal leads protest against UN Human Rights chief

National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa led a protest against the?UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra?ad Al Hussein outside the UN office in Colombo.

Several people took part in the protest and walked upto the UN office from Town Hall with banners and placards in their hands.

The riot police was stationed outside the UN compound as the protesters blocked the road and shouted slogans against Zeid Ra?ad Al Hussein.

The High Commissioner, who arrived in Sri Lanka today, will visit Jaffna and Trincomalee tomorrow and on Monday?where he will meet with the Governors and Chief Ministers of the Northern and Eastern Provinces respectively.

He will also have talks with families of the war victims and local civil society members.?(Colombo Gazette)

Two youth drowned at sea in Magalkanda, Beruwela today. The Police said that the two youth had gone with another individual to bath in the sea.
