Constitutional Council considers Ahimsa’s letter to Police Commission

The Constitutional Council has taken into consideration a letter sent by slain journalist Lasantha Wickramatung’s daughter Ahimsa Wickramatunge to the Police Commission. The Parliament Secretariat said that a copy of a letter sent by Ms. Ahimsa Wickramatunge to the Police Commission was brought to the attention of the members of the Constitutional Council by its Chairman Karu Jayasuriya. Sri Lanka bans seafarers from entering ports

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed the Minister of Foreign Relations Dinesh Gunawardena to halt the use of Sri Lankan Ports as transit points for international seafarers. Final report on MCC by expert committee handed over to PM

The final report on the controversial Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement proposed to be signed with Sri Lanka, was handed over to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
