Workers of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) observed a token fast in Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu protesting against the lackadaisical approach of the Tamil Nadu State and Union governments towards the frequent arrest of fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy and securing the release of boats seized.
A.K.S. Vijayan, district secretary, presided over the agitation near the head post office, The Hindu newspaper reported.
