Sri Lanka Freedom Party and joint opposition member Keheliya Rambukwella said that the TNA was given more time to speak in Parliament than the joint opposition at the last budget debate.
“Some may say i’m racist by saying this, that’s ok. The opposition stage has been given to the TNA in Parliament. During the budget debate the first hour for 25 days was given to the TNA. The next hour was given to the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna. The joint opposition got around 5 – 10 minutes. That was unfair,” he said.
The former Minister said that the treatment the joint opposition is getting in Parliament may force them to look at alternative ways to get their voices heard.
Asked if looking at alternative measures means forming a new political party, Rambukwella said the joint opposition has not taken such a decision. (Colombo Gazette)
