Foreign Ministry sources said Swaraj will be in Sri Lanka for discussions on the Indo-Lanka joint commission.
She will also have talks with the Government on the fishermen issue and political developments in the country.
Ahead of her visit, Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar is expected to visit Sri Lanka this week for talks.
Sources said the date for the visit is not confirmed, but he may arrive before January 15.
Jaishankar is expected to have brief talks with the Government and also set the groundwork for the Indian Foreign Minister’s visit to Sri Lanka next month. (Colombo Gazette)
