Lankan Tamil refugee sets herself on fire

A 31-year-old Sri Lankan Tamil refugee has set herself on?fire at?a refugee camp at Kottapattu in Tiruchi ?in the late hours on Saturday. The woman J. Rohini is undergoing treatment at the Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital in Tiruchi, The Hindu newspaper reported.

Police sources said domestic tiff between the woman and her husband was said to have driven her to resort to the extreme step.

The woman poured kerosene on her body and set herself afire in the refugee camp in the late night hours. The sources said the woman had suffered nearly 40 per cent burns.
